A Word About the
Program
Interface and How the Windows Work

As you work in the Health Profiles
, you will see two different types of working windows.

1.The List Window: this window (sometimes called a "browse" window) always displays a columnar listing of the contents of the file. For example, if you enter profiles on more than one person, this window will display a listing of all the profiles. It is the entry point for each file. The list window displays all records in the database. If you were looking at your prescriptions, this window will list every prescription you have entered.

From the list window, you choose an action you wish to take (add/insert a new record, select a record and change data, or select a record and delete it). You can search for specific records or information from the List Window. If there are many records in the file, you can scroll up and down to see more records. Scroll bars automatically appear on the right side when there are more records to view. You can also adjust the column widths if you prefer. See below for help.

2.The Add/Update/Insert Window: this window displays the contents of a single record. For example, a profile is a single record on one individual. It contains multiple categories of information and covers many screens of data, but it is a single record. The Health Profile record is large, so there are tabs on the side to move to different sections of the record.

There are also several other database files which contain smaller records.

The functions in Add/Update/Insert are the same: OK to save data that have been entered, CANCEL to not save the data and HELP.

Changing
Column
Widths on a Browse/List Window

You can modify the width of the columns to your own preference with your mouse. There are two ways to adjust the column width. You can adjust the width manually or the program can automatically adjust the width to accommodate the size of the data in the column.
1.Manual Change: Position your cursor over a column line you wish to change. Move it until you see a double arrow and stop. Hold the left button and drag the column to the desired position; release the button. OR...
2.Automatic Change: Position your cursor over a column line you wish to change and double-click the left mouse button. The column will automatically be sized to fit the length of the data held in the column.

Note:
Health Profiles
will remember your new column widths. For more information on re-sizing windows, click on Getting a Comfortable Window's Working Area.

Tips on Using this Help File

·Contents - Click the Contents button of this Help file to see a complete listing of available topics. You may need to double click on the headers to display sub topics.
·Page Links & Jumps (Blue or Purple Underlined Words) - Some help pages may have links or topic jumps at the beginning of or throughout the text. Double-click these links to move quickly through a page or to a more relevant topic. To return to where you started, click on the word "Back" at the top of the Help window. The Blue Links indicate the link has not been used. Once the link has been used, it will become Purple, meaning "been there, done that." Blue and purple are the default link colors for most Windows' software programs, but the colors may be different if you have changed the link colors on your computer.
·Useful Links - Click on Main Menu and scroll down for information on Useful Links. You may find some of these links (which will connect you to other Internet websites) informative. These links will only work if you are connected to the Internet.
