Create Other PDF Files

You may have medical reports, doctor's write up's, or other important documents that you wish to save in a PDF formatted file. Health Profiles can convert many electronic documents into a password-protected, encrypted PDF format file. To see the formats that can be converted to PDF format, click on Show Me the Formats. You can copy those files onto other media for safe-keeping. Read Saving, Storage and Retrieval Options for more information.

This is the List Window for Other PDF Files
. It is a columnar listing of all PDF documents you have created. The list displays the PDF File Name and the Source File for the converted PDF File.. This window may be blank the first time you see it and before you convert any documents.

Converting a File to PDF Format

·Select Portable Health Profiles from the Main Menu and Select Create Other PDF Files.  
·Click INSERT from the List Other PDF File window to load the Add Record window, see below. Follow the steps.

1. Source File Name for PDF: Enter the location and name of the file you wish to convert.  
Use the lookupname button to help locate the exact location and file name.  
 
2.Person's Name: Select the name of the individual from the drop-down box downarrow who is associated with the data to be converted.  
 
3.Descriptive Word: Enter a descriptive term to help identify the purpose of the file. For example: Passport, BirthCertificate, SurgeryRpt, etc.  
 
4.Password & Encrypt? Click the Protect Box to indicate if you wish to have this file protected. If you intend to upload this file to our secure website, then it must be protected. See Upload Your PDF Documents for more information.  
 
5.See New File Name? Click the Create Name Box to proceed.  
 
6.Display New File Name: The new file name will be displayed based on the data you entered in Steps 1 through 4.  
 
7.If the filename is OK, Click Accept: You can change the name of the file by making modifications in the previous steps. If the file name is acceptable to you, Click the Accept File Name? Box to proceed.  
 
8.Create a PDF File: Click the Create a PDF Button to activate the file conversion.   Once the file has been converted, the PDF Made on Date and Time will be displayed.

Can I Convert to PDF?
Health Profiles can convert many standard formats to a PDF formatted file. See the list below. Hard copy or printed files can be scanned or created as a faxed attachment. Scanners often give you the choice of saving to a variety of formats. Scan and save the document in one of the formats below like a JPG or TIF. FAX formats typically are TIF files. Once you have an acceptable format, you can use the Heath Profiles

Other Ways To Convert Documents

An additional way of converting documents of almost any type including emails, word processing documents, spreadsheets etc. is to obtain a free PDF printer driver. After installing the printer driver, you then select the PDF driver as the "printer" to print an it shall produce the document in PDF form.
