List Window Format Manager

The List Format Manager dialog allows you to select the fields in the sort order you wish to have displayed in the List Window. See Program Interface for more about List Windows. You can open up a special popup design interface that allows you to create and modify unlimited list box format appearances.

The following images show an example of the Format Manager interface on the Prescription Keeper
(these functions work on all list windows for any database in the Personal Helper Series):

1.From the list box, you can right-click, and select a different format from the popup menu, or add a new format by selecting the List Format menu item. In this example, the List Format shows there are four formats above: the Default Format and SortOrder1 through SortOrder4. The check mark indicates that SortOrder 1 is currently the default format. To add or modify a format, select Format Setup.

2.The list box above shows the Format Editor's active list formats, and allows the user to add, change or delete them as needed. Click the Insert Button to add a new format.

3.The user has the ability in the above Format Editor window to designate what fields (columns) to use in the new format, and move the field values up or down in order. Double-click the ON/OFF box to select or de-select a field. The check mark indicates the field is selected.

4.Click the appropriate arrow to move a field to the top or the bottom of the list or up and down one level at a time.

5.Once you are satisfied with your new list, type in a name for the new format in the Name Box and click the Save Button. Use the Cancel Button if you decide you do not with to keep your changes.  
 
 
Changing Column Widths on a Browse/List Window

You can modify the width of the columns to your own preference with your mouse. There are two ways to adjust the column width. You can adjust the width manually or the program can automatically adjust the width to accommodate the size of the data in the column.
1.Manual Change: Position your cursor over a column line you wish to change. Move it until you see a double arrow and stop. Hold the left button and drag the column to the desired position; release the button. OR...  
2.Automatic Change: Position your cursor over a column line you wish to change and double-click the left mouse button. The column will automatically be sized to fit the length of the data held in the column.  
 
Note: Health Profiles
